RISU AMERICA, INC. is the US subsidiary Gifu Plastic Industry established in May 2023. Its plant in Shelbyville, Indiana was completed on September 22, 2025 and makes plastic pallets. It is the group’s 15th production site and its first outside Japan.

• 48 × 40 in is the standard　About 919 million new wood pallets were made in the US in 2021, and 29% were 48 × 40 in (GMA). It is the most common size. Japan’s common sizes, 1100 × 1100 mm (about 43 × 43 in) and 1200 × 1000 mm (about 47 × 39 in), are different, so match the size to your customers and racks.
• Wood dominates　In a 2025 industry survey, 92% of respondents used wood pallets and 28% used plastic pallets (multiple answers).
• Tariffs on lumber　Since October 14, 2025, imported softwood lumber carries an extra 10% tariff under Section 232. Canadian lumber faces about 45% in total with antidumping and countervailing duties (about 35%). The effect on wood pallet prices is not yet clear.
• No heat treatment for export　Wood pallets for export need ISPM 15 treatment and marking. Plastic pallets are exempt.
• Check fire protection　Under US fire codes, storing plastic pallets without FM 4996 or UL 2335 certification can raise the commodity classification and affect sprinkler design. Please check with your warehouse before switching.

Who makes these pallets?

Models starting with GPK are made by RISU AMERICA, INC., the US subsidiary of Gifu Plastic Industry, at its plant in Shelbyville, Indiana, completed in September 2025. Models starting with PG are made by Plasgad, a pallet maker based in Israel.

Where can you deliver?

We deliver to the United States, Canada and Mexico, by full 53-foot truckload or by LTL (less-than-truckload) freight.

Do you have 48 × 40 inch pallets?

Yes. GPK 4840 (48 × 40 × 5 in, nestable) and Plasgad PG140 (48 × 40 × 6 in, rackable) are available.

Do you have rackable pallets?

Yes. Plasgad PG140 and PG1090 are rackable. See the table for rack load capacities.

Do plastic pallets need heat treatment for export?

No. ISPM 15 applies to wood packaging material. USDA APHIS lists plastic pallets as exempt.
